There's nothing about today in my diary and a blog entry I wrote today simply says that Hans and I stayed in the Hotel Shree Maya.

I recall that this was our introduction to the speed (or lack thereof) of India trains - they seem to manage 40 km/h. I also vaguely recall someone trying to guide us to a hotel we didn't want to use and then telling me all about the ball-bearings he sold. I think both Hans and I tried to wash clothes in the hotel room and that I constructed a very Heath-Robinson washing-line to dry them on.
