Today was by far the hardest day. The brochure said 'You will master the 500 metres height difference [between Ältstetten and Gais] by comfortably taking the rack railway.' Well, that seemed far too much like cheating to Random Bozo, so he (and a reluctant Random Bozette) ground up the hairpins. Lunch in Gais was very welcome, especially as it was the Randoms' first encounter with the intrepid CykloKlub Morava.
Thereafter lots more climbing, getting lost, dehydration and grinding happened. Eventually, the Randoms found a train leading to St Gallen. However, even this had incidents - there wasn't room to get the bikes on the same carriage and Random Bozo spent a fearful 30 minutes believing Random Bozette hadn't been able to get on the train.
