Bruce and Elly do the Holy Roman Empire

Friday 11th April: Brussels to Berlin

Brussels to Berlin

The train vibrated.

Leaving Brussels:

Our train had come from Paris.

No, this is not the circus!

∀ men ∈ {suit-wearers},
∃ ti to be knotted...

You must go here.

Er, actually this part of the journey began very late on Thursday after a really long wait at Brussels. All the cafes, bars and shops had closed and we could amuse ourselves only by window-shopping at the automated 24-shop (basically, a vending machine on steroids) and dodging the winos.

It would have been scarier if we'd arrived in Rome and the first thing we'd seen was the circus, especially if we had heard growling.

I bought some Schwartser Krause (black cabbage) tobacco and some birch-bark-like skins from a Tabak. Such a fine use of my knowledge of German!

We did a little international alchemy and came away with some Kroner

The advert of the man with a tie was on the platform where we caught the train to Prague (which then went on to Budapest).

For those of a non-mathematical bent, the caption says 'For all men who wear suits, there is a tie to be knotted.'
